Citi → Preferred Hotels iPrefer Gets Cut in Half on April 19 — Transfer by Saturday
Citi ThankYou is slashing the transfer ratio to Preferred Hotels iPrefer by 50% starting April 19. Today: 1,000 Citi points = 4,000 iPrefer points. Sunday: 1,000 Citi points = 2,000 iPrefer points. This was one of the best-kept secrets in hotel points. Last day at current ratio is April 18.
Preferred Hotels iPrefer covers 650+ independent luxury properties worldwide. At the old 1:4 ratio, boutique luxury stays were legitimately cheap — some properties under 25,000 Citi points per night at cash rates of $600+. That math gets much harder after Sunday. If you have a specific property in mind, transfer now. Capital One transfers to iPrefer at 1:2, same as the new Citi rate — Citi loses its advantage entirely.
